Yeah it’s interesting that the Church itself is the body of Christ, as Paul explicitly says in one of his letters. This puts a whole different spin on what it means to say that the Eucharist is. There’s something deep in there — in the communion community body thing — though I’m not sure exactly what. But it of course gets lost when people insist on taking mythological/religious truths/ideas in a historic/literal way instead of symbolically.

Community worlding was democratic? How so? Nah, it’s rituals and mythogrqphies all the way down. Importantly, when rituals are formalized by empire the difference is one of authority but not of substance

you're right, I kept popping in collegial there instead, but there is no word for that stuff I think even communitarian is wrong, clubbish perhaps, but it seems most kinds and ages of people were welcome,, so yes democratic —in how we use it today--- is avant la lettre and so incorrect
