If you conclude that humans are "living fossils",Berenson compare them with "an energy of a given force of radiation" and "a certain power of resistance". It is interesting to look at the definition of matter:Matter is the substance+energy.So you, two minds, are characterizing the living matter from two different directions.Berenson(1865-1959) can not change anything now, while you Meika have enough time to expand the concept of alignment versus trajectory as a bunch of vectors to alignment versus energy as a bunch of waves. For this you will need knowledge of quantum mechanics . Will you?
I am in doubt that the difference in scale allows such persistence, and I do not have the mathematics to argue or on any case, however there are similarities in metaphysics. The POV or point of view being a case in point.
This is not the difference in scale.There is the Newtonian mechanics and quantum mechanics -two different ways of explaining of motion and time.As the Janus with two faces.We do not necessarily need to understand it quantitatively,using math;qualitative approach is possible in metaphysics.
We could describe the electron simalteniously as the moving particle having the impulse and the vector of the movement and the moving wave having the particular length and frequency.Waves could pass through the walls without breaking them,while the balls do it through breaking the obstacles.It is difficult to imagine these penetration properties belong to the same object,but Einstein somehow managed to build the mathematical apparatus for such explanation.
Screaming monkeys,their reflexes consist from particles as a bunch of vectors.The conscious thought and the conscious feeling, I suppose, are the bunches of waves of different frequencies.In case the frequencies of the thoughts and the feelings of the persons coincide, the probability of mutual understanding arises.The same is about the bunches of vectors.I am not sure, just speculating about the supposition.

I like the idea that identity emerges from aligning many trajectories rather than following a single direction.
