Henri Bergson was wrong, but in a good way
3 minutes of quotes that try to reframe our animal assumptions
Henri Bergson was wrong because despite his insight into our animal assumptions, Bergson thought these animalities were the hard stuff of the world, when they are just contingencies of survival. He went doctrinal on life, and made his worldbuilding some type of reality, and thus was lead to feel Einsteinian physics of space-time would rob us of our humanity… or because we are human Einstein is wrong…
Of course, if Einstein is right, and we are still human, and it has failed to rob us already, or failed to stop us evolving then….
This video take his best bits (and thus does not illuminate why he made this error despite the insight/s —- i.e. his error is coherent with his thought, but yeah-but-nah).
